Spice up your life Posted by Picasa

I have a confession to make. I like the Spice Girls. Let me clarify. I've never bought any of their records, but I have a few of their songs on my computer. And when the songs play, I do a little shimmy in my chair (that's as close to dancing as I get).

I really love the song Spice Up You Life. It was super popular when I worked at The Hippo in Baltimore. As you know most of my musical tastes leans to rock. So working at a dance club can suck at times. But whenever Spice Up Your Life played, I instantly got energy. I cut my limes and oranges faster, I could stack multiple cases of beer on my shoulders with ease and lugging ice around in giant buckets was no big deal.

So happy Tunesday everyone! Download this song, you'll thank me later. Having a bad day at work? Crank it up and do a little dance. You'll feel better.

  • Hi, my name is Jeff.

I've been addicted to the Spice Girls since 1996. I've been sober since Ginger Spice left in 1998 although I admit there are times when I "slam it to the left" then "shake it to the right" behind closed doors. It's a sickness.

and for you, my lil´deafy Teddy... I think "But whenever Spice Up Your Life played, I instantly got energy, I cut my limes and oranges faster" sentence should be in the Great Book of Wonders of the World under a big picture of you.

  • I liked the Spice Girls a little around 97. That Wannabe song hooked me in for a minute. This one wasn't so bad either, thanks for posting it!

  • OMG....it is too weird that you worked at the Hippo in Baltimore....of course it was probably when I lived in Seattle....cuz I know all the bartenders there....Roger..and ..the owner (whose nephew is a good friend of mine....a gay guy who lives in Seattle)..Danny who I think has fallen into the world of crack and last heard he and his BF (the coat check guy on the dance side) had moved to Seattle.....anyways I do like the song Wannabe or whatever it's called....it's pure bubble gum delight....u know sometime I'd like to ask u a million and one questions.....first of all...why do u like Baltimore???? LOL

  • Since we're confessing, my secret favorite Spice Girls song is 'Who Do You Think You Are', which I don't think was a hit here in the US. But it's just so damn insipidly perky - "Swing it, shake it, move it, make it...who do you think you a-are?". 'Spice Up Your Life' is fun too. Can't say I really like any of their other songs too much.

  • (Chomping on Buble Gum, twirling my long curly blonde hair, on a pink rhinestone studded cell phone, painting my toenails "pretty pink") Oh my gawd, I love the spice girls!!!!

Actually, I love Geri Haliwell. She rocks and isn't afraid to put herself and her sexual innuendoes out there.

  • oh ya´know?
I just got back here ´cause I remembered that once, during my highschool days, I dyed my hair just as GINGER SPICE had it to tease my boyfriend (who was a Spice Girl himself).

and now im teasing you just saying that when SPICE GIRLS were the latest hit I was STILL IN HIGHSCHOOL!

    feeling old buddy?
